Blue Apple performers take their climate emergency immersive film exhibition on tour to Hampshire Libraries.

Blue Apple's Special Assignments Company (SAC) performers have created an immersive film exhibit that aims to promote discussion of the climate emergency and share ways to do less harm to the planet. The exhibit has now been turned into an installation that is being toured to Fareham Library on Friday 10 February 10am to 3pm and Fleet Library 10am to 2pm. As an exhibition style screening, visitors can drop in to see it in the library at any time it is playing. Entry is free.

Forgotten People Forgotten Planet was originally created in 2022 by Blue Apple’s Special Assignments Company to share their perspective on climate change. Through workshops, performers created and produced a film for a live and interactive public screening event, aiming to engage people in the climate crisis conversation, promoting empathy and discussion about access and equality.
Blue Apple’s SAC is facilitated by Rebecca Godden, Associate Director at Blue Apple Theatre.

Rebecca said:

“Forgotten People Forgotten Planet was started by people with learning disabilities who want to have a voice on the issue of the climate crisis but feel that they are not being heard. This project aims to attract local people into seeing the climate crisis through the eyes of people with learning disabilities. We hope that the real and imagined stories will bring this issue alive for audiences and bring greater awareness of the climate emergency to communities. By finding new ways to describe the issues and by creating new space, people will see something happening, and explore connections between disability and climate change.”

Blue Apple’s Forgotten People, Forgotten Planet film screening is available on Friday 10 February 10am to 3pm at Fareham Library, Osborn Road, Fareham PO16 7EN and Saturday 11 February 10am to 2pm at Fleet Library, 236 Fleet Road, Fleet, Hampshire, GU51 4BX.
