Safe and Warm Communities

Safe and Warm Communities provides energy awareness training to voluntary, charity and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations within Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, and Southern Dorset, that may be noticing the direct effects of fuel poverty on their beneficiaries and their families.

It is particularly aimed at communities who may not access mainstream energy advice or may be excluded from energy support, be in fuel poverty and at risk of high bills or unsafe energy practices at home.

We are providing online energy workshops to include information on fuel poverty, carbon monoxide (CO) safety, Priority Services Register (PSR) to enable organisations to deliver awareness messages to their beneficiaries and signpost to more specialist advice as needed.

"Action Hampshire supports communities to take action on the issues that matter to them by working with voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations from those communities. We're delighted to be partnering with SGN to apply this model to help communities stay safe and warm at home. We'll recruit voluntary organisations, providing training, resources and funding for them on energy awareness to enable them to share this learning in the way they know best with their communities. This will help under-served communities who otherwise wouldn't have access to vital support, to help them stay safe and warm."
