For over 70 years, Action Hampshire has played a critical role in supporting Hampshire’s communities.
We've done lots of things over the past 70 years. Today, our mission focuses on three key areas.
To Strengthen and Connect VCSE Leaders, Organisations and Networks
We are an infrastructure organisation. As Hampshire's county-wide Council for Voluntary Services, and Rural Community Council, we provide support to thousands of voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations. In doing so, we support Hampshire's VCSE sector to thrive.
We support VCSE organisations across Basingstoke and Deane, East Hampshire, Eastleigh, Fareham, Gosport, Hart, Havant, the New Forest, Portsmouth, Rushmoor, Southampton, Test Valley and Winchester with information, peer networking and support, amplification, insight and voice. We carry out research that helps increase understanding about the sector and host forums and networks which connect and support organisations. We work with our equivalent organisations around the country to champion local VCSE sector.

To Promote and Support Community-Led and Place-Based Action
We believe in the power of communities to achieve great things. We raise the voices of communities and support them to play an active role in changes affecting them. From community-led planning to rural affordable housing, we've helped communities get organised and get involved! We also provide support to organisations who want to engage with communities, to help them identify and make use of community voices.
To Champion Diversity, Challenging Inequity and Disadvantage
We lead innovative projects that champion the voice and contributions of diverse people and communities across Hampshire. We raise awareness of and challenge inequity and disadvantage.
From work on health inequalities to social isolation and loneliness, from poverty and homelessness to disadvantages faced by rural communities, we work in support of and collaboration with a wide range of organisations dedicated to diversity, equity, inclusion, equality, lived experience and marginalisation.
We aim to fill gaps and work together. As an infrastructure organisation, we focus on supporting organisations rather than individuals.
Trading Services
We also deliver high-quality services for VCSE and statutory organisations and small-medium enterprises. We have a strong track record and a wide range of skills to offer.
