Making art more accessible to neurodivergent people in and around Andover

14/06/2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

The project is split into two phases:

Phase 1: 2 sessions (hybrid online/ offline if possible) in April 2022 (one in the afternoon and one in the evening), bringing together those who identify as neurodivergent and who are interested in participating and co-creating a policy and action plan.

As part of the registration process you will be asked to complete a survey. During the first session we will present the survey findings and explore the following:

How we would define neurodivergence, the cultures and language.
The ambition/ scope of the work, e.g. specific to the arts landscape but with a view to the wider creative and societal barriers.
Why we need an ND policy and action plan.
What CAS can do as an organisation.
How CAS can be a trailblazer for a more inclusive community in Andover.
Phase 2: 2 sessions (hybrid online/ offline if possible) in June 2022 (one in the afternoon and one in the evening), bringing together participants from Phase1 to:

Present findings from initial sessions and resulting draft policy.
Present actions identified from initial discussions.
Explore barriers to neurodivergent people for participation in creative pursuits, art and wider society.
Explore actions that can be taken to enable neurodivergent people to participate more fully in art, creativity and society more widely.
If you are interested in helping us create our policy and strategy and you identify as neurodivergent, please book one of our sessions in April and one in June.
