Kickstart your business, enterprise, or project idea on the FREE AWE Making a Difference programme!
Accelerating Women’s Enterprise (AWE), available via this link, is a collaborative project to help women living either side of the English Channel to increase their skills and develop their business ideas and knowledge!
Open to all women in Hampshire and Wiltshire, this practical course walks you through the key steps to turn your idea into a sustainable business. Action Hampshire are delivering the programme in Hampshire, and we are offering a wide array of training and support! From free training workshops, to face to face advice, to mentoring and online learning, we provide women with the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge needed to activate a business idea.
Who is it for? Women who would like to start a business or community project, or who want some support for an early-stage enterprise.
Who can apply? People who identify as women, or are non-binary and comfortable being part of a course primarily for women.
How much does it cost? FREE, including a grant for travel costs and carers costs, wherever appropriate.
What's on offer?:
Sofa Sessions
A series of weekly group training sessions run to support you to develop your business idea and build a network of support. Session topics include:
- An introduction to creating a community impact business
- Exploring your purpose and developing an idea for an enterprise
- A look at mission, vision, and values
- Defining and measuring social impact
- Crystalising your idea

Nuts and Bolts
Build your knowledge, skills, and abilities. Learn practical skills such as finding funding, marketing yourself and your project, and how your work can make change. Session topics include:
- Understanding the market
- Customers and competitors
- Building your brand
- Managing money and risk
- Improving personal effectiveness

Accelerator programme
Two-day residential accelerator course taking place in March 2023, focussing on how to increase impact or grow your business. Accommodation and all meals will be provided on site. Applications currently now closed.
