Porchester EcoFayre

Wicor Primary School are hosting will be holding Portchester's very own EcoFayre on Saturday May 20 2023 between 10:00 - 14:00, in line with many other towns in Hampshire.  The Fayre will be held within Wicor Primary School's extensive grounds (Wicor Primary School, Hatherley Crescent, Portchester, Fareham PO16 9DL) which have won national awards for their horticultural and natural history work and well known within Hampshire having been featured on Solent TV, Solent Radio and BBC Gardeners' World.  They open yearly to the public under the National Garden Scheme and are fully accessible for wheelchairs. 

"The aim is to bring all things sustainable to our local community, to educate on how to move forward in protecting our planet and to bring attention to your businesses.  

We hope this to be a one-in-a-kind exciting event “celebrating earth-friendly living” that is fun, and informative day-out for all the family.  A truly eye-opening event where you can connect with other business and the local community involved in practical sustainability.  We hope to be offering the public tips and ideas for reducing their carbon footprint, with ideas from up-cycling no longer loved clothes, or getting back on your bike.  Ideas on how to increase biodiversity with good gardening practice or how to grow a slightly wilder garden.  There will be children's activities with food and drink available.  

We have many organisations signed up from HIWWT and the Woodland Trust, to Refill and Replenish and Coffee Pod jewellery, The Green Boutique to Southern Water.  I think having our local Council represented is highly important especially in regard to safeguarding our green spaces or how the council are protecting verges."

There is plenty of free parking and there is no charge for your pitch in the grounds, but you would need to bring a gazebo, tables and chairs for your stall.
